Eccentric Users Sterner TM

Mark Knopfler, eccentric capouser. This is a beautiful, quiet and elegant piece of design which really works.

This will be my second Sterner. Number one went missing and despite the other capos that abound in our guitar ridden home it is truly missed.

I am an adult, middle-aged male and I rarely reply to a company's request
for feedback regarding their product. However, your Eccentric Capo is such a
fine product, I'm making an exception.
I just ordered two more ( I lost my 1st one, dammit!). Since they are so
expensive, I thought I'd try to live without it, but I can't. I ordered an
extra one for my music teacher (at my expense!) because it works so well. I
first heard about your capo in Acoustic Guitar Magazine. I was reluctant to
believe the hype until I visited your website. I thought : "If they can put
this kind of effort into explanation and demonstration of their product,
then maybe they are believable."
You ARE believable. Your Capo is everything you said it was. It really DOES
keep the guitar in tune. It really IS easy to use. It DOES NOT damage the
neck of my expensive instruments. It fits on ALL 6 of my acoustic guitars (I
will now follow your suggestion of attaching it to the guitar - since not
doing so is how I lost my original one!).
Like my high-end guitars, I expect a lot out of a product that I pay top
dollar for. Your Eccentric Capo exceeds my expectations. I can't wait to
receive the two I just purchased.

Hi there!
My name is Micke Nord and I am a good friend of "Falken". He had the good taste of fixing me a Sterner capo. I've been using it intensely for a couple of weeks now and I just wanted you to know that I'm very pleased with it. I could write a lot about why I think like I do, but I want to use it a bit more first. Until then you'll have to be content with this little compliment.
Regards,
Micke Nord

To my new best friends at Sterner Capo:
I have been playing guitar for 45 years, professionally for about 12 of these.  I play only fingerstyle 6-string acoustic guitar exclusively (my current acoustic guitars range in value from $49 to $7,000+ and I intend to keep a Sterner capo in every guitar case).  I still perform publicly , frequently.  I change tunings on almost every song and use a capo on 75 % of all songs.  I have tried "every capo made".  Your capo is the finest design in existence in the known universe.  It does what you say it does.  It is my dream capo.  It is an answer to performing prayer - really.  I have owned my first Sterner capo (there will be many more) for less than 24 hours - and it's already proven itself.  If there are any skeptics out there - just have them contact me and I will set them straight.  The cost of your capo is not really a factor when you consider that I have spent literally $100's of dollars on other capos that just don't cut it.  The Sterner capo is the standard by which all others should be judged and all other capo manufacturers should strive to achieve.  I know what I'm talking about.  I am a lifetime capo fanatic.  Consider these comments as the testimony of an expert.
Thank you.  Thank you.  Thank you.

Jack Lawrence, eccentric capouser. Hi Anders,
I got the capo and like it a lot. I haven't "road tested" it with Doc yet. We don't plan sets and sometimes, since Doc is blind he doesn't give me a lot of time to change capo positions. This has not been a problem with my solo shows. I plan to give it a try next time out with Doc and if I learn to change it fast enough I'll use it. I'll certainly be using it when I do solo. I love the low profile, it doesn't get in the way like other capos. Thanks again for for a wonderful capo, I'll use it often and of course I'll show it around.
Regards
Jack Lawrence

Hello Anders,
I must admit that at first it's hard to envisage the benefits of the capo, until you actually try it, or rather having tried it, to go back to using an ordinary capo. It's only after using it for a while that you realise that you no longer have to cramp your fingers for those first position notes and chords, and that capoing at the twelfth fret is just as easy to play as on the first fret, or that sliding bar chords down to open positions without changing fingers is just as easy as on the un-capoed guitar.
If, as I did, you then try to use an ordinary capo you realise how restricted you are.
I think you have achieved the closest thing possible to a "virtual nut" or a "capo-less" capo!  I look forward to exploring the capoed guitar, more than I've done before.
Many thanks for a great design.
Best Regards,
David Reece

Dear Anders,
The capo arrived fine, thank you. I have already used it and am very pleased. It is small enough that I can fret right up to it without any interference. I am going to play in two days with my usual group and look forward to showing it off. I will have to keep my eyes on it, though. I think it is going to be very popular.
In tune,
Greg

Axel Rasmussen, eccentric capouser. Hi Anders,
I want to tell you that I am very satisfied with my capo. It's the best I've ever had. It is true that you don't need to adjust the tuning, after you've attached the capo. Very practical!!! Thanks for that.
- Axel Rasmussen, Denmark.

Dear Mr. Sterner,
I received my capo today and have been trying it out. I am very pleased with it in every aspect and must say that it performs exactly as you stated on your website. I have tried just about every capo that is available, Kyser, Shubb, Victor, John Pearce Old Reliable and yours is hands down the best I have personally used with regard to ease of application. Moving the capo up the neck in any position I find that I did not have to re-tune at all, simply amazing. Your capo is the most unobtrusive I have ever used too, you hardly know that it is there once in place. In my 30 + years of guitar playing I have not seen a finer piece of gear. I love it already, thanks for creating a great product!
Sincerely,

"I think your design is quite good, and works at least as well as anything I've used. The most ingenious part of your design (in my opinion), is the removable pad. This is very cool. The pad is "locked" into the capo, and will not move as tension is applied. The tolerances on your design are close and critical, showing it to be a quality piece."
